Okay got one that works thank you Greg! I was surprised to see I am in the part of the world being already cut out from the rest of the world due to "smart" bureacratic policies already.. but to be honest I understand it even agree with that somehow :-) :-)
"openvela is the open-source version of Xiaomi Vela, an internal operating system developed by Xiaomi. It features an excellent kernel (..)" Sorry to ask but as a person who is only interested in the NuttX part: So OpenVela is the operating system or the independent framework that works on top of NuttX and is platform agnostic? It sounds like it is a standalone operating system? I thought it is kind of lets say "advanced mqtt" framework with client and server approach? Is "internal" Vela based on NuttX or Minix or Linux or BSD or something else? It sounds like it is custom (from scratch?) closed source solution and has nothing to do with NuttX correct? It is used in the commercial products while the open part is available to the public and NuttX based? Can *Vela work without NuttX? I mean is OpenVela portable framework to other big / small / RTOS / POSIX platforms? Are different parts available as standalone components (i.e. client on FreeRTOS and server on BSD)? For instance if a company uses some product already based on other OS/RTOS can they run Vela too? This sounds a bit marketing-ish to say that Vela makes NuttX "a highly efficient and accessible innovation platform for researchers and developers around the globe" not the other way around, or even feels like NuttX is small part of Vela, but there may be other connections behind like Espressif contributions or some other frameworks involved because it is bigger ecosystem somehow connected economically? I know NuttX but did not use OpenVela or maybe I am just not aware that I am using it already? :-) Tomek On Mon, Oct 27, 2025 at 7:20 PM Gregory Nutt <[email protected]> wrote: > > Or > https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/openvelas-inaugural-global-developer-conference-concludes-successfully-nuttx-founder-gregory-nutt-joins-to-shape-aiot-ecosystem-302594467.html > > https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/openvelas-inaugural-global-developer-conference-concludes-successfully-nuttx-founder-gregory-nutt-joins-to-shape-aiot-ecosystem-302594467.html > > Or.. > https://www.cbs42.com/business/press-releases/cision/20251025CN06853/openvelas-inaugural-global-developer-conference-concludes-successfully-nuttx-founder-gregory-nutt-joins-to-shape-aiot-ecosystem/ > > Or maybe: > https://www.cbs42.com/business/press-releases/cision/20251025CN06853/openvelas-inaugural-global-developer-conference-concludes-successfully-nuttx-founder-gregory-nutt-joins-to-shape-aiot-ecosystem/ > > Sorry.
