the main groovy module shouldn't be in 'dead projects'.  Its particularly
useful for administering sync, because it allows you do to simple object
manipulations in a way that triggers a hibernate event, thus creating a
sync record that will then propagate like any other sync record...

The alternative is to run custom SQL on a bunch of servers manually, which
is the worst, for obvious reasons..., second only to writing a custom
controller in java just to update a single record.
