This last comment is interesting and I think deserves a bit more elaboration. Maybe we should discuss this in a separate thread and add the outcome of that discussion to the Release Planning Template -- https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Release+Planning+Template I'm interpreting your last item to mean we, as a group, need to determine what constitutes "Feature Freeze" and "Start" from that document.
