+1. I guess it would be overkill to have some other tool (such as a web app or an email-autoresponder) that would tally the votes instead of flooding everyone's inboxes with lots of vote messages. Sprout, has apache tried any other method for tracking votes?

The problem with a tool is that votes frequently cause discussion, which ends up modifying the original proposal. That makes it harder to use a tool. The most automated that we've gotten is that some people use a little e-mail template. I'm not aware of any project that uses voting which also has a voting tool.
