Hi Vakhtang, hi Thomas,

signing a PDF seems to be one of the top use cases for PDFBox. Maybe you can 
outline what has to be done to a ‚core‘ of PDFBox i.e. what might be missing 
from a PDF perspective and what is part of a signing application. Having a 
reference implementation for signing using PDFbox would be very good. And as 
modularization is one of the themes of PDFBox 2 we could organize it 
accordingly.
