James Taylor commented on PHOENIX-1536:
---------------------------------------
bq. I don't feel this is a valid argument [that local indexing is a released
feature that's been out for some time]. It's not HBase's problem that Phoenix
pursued feature implementation in a particular way without due consultation
I'm not at all arguing about or suggesting what should be done in HBase about
it (I'm sure you guys can figure that out and I'm happy to contribute in any
way that's useful). I'm saying from the *Phoenix* point of view we can't say a
feature that's been out across 3 releases is no longer supported by Phoenix.
I do really appreciate you getting involved here, [~apurtell]. You're insights
and opinions are invaluable. Please stay involved and let's catch these kinds
of things earlier, before they get released next time?
> Make use of SplitTransaction to split local index region from 0.98.9 onwards

> Currently we are using IndexSpilitTransaction which is duplicate of
> SplitTransaction with minor changes. From 0.98.9 onwards we can use the
> SplitTransaction itself.
