Just for the record, m107 build is ok. Build done with gcc-3.3 under

What compatibility reasons?
Soon will 10.4.2 be out. But some Mac users are/will still use 10.4.0,
and we cannot force them to upgrade.
That's just what "for compatibility reasons" means. Because of this, I
'll wait sometimes before to upgrade.
Any why not gcc-4?
First, gcc3.3 builds fine at least until m107 for me**, and after
reading carefully a lot of informations about it, gcc4.0 is not yet
optimized yet. IMHO.
Second, we have a least 2 stoppers and 3 important issues before to even
think begin the migration for build with gcc4.0. Sure if we have time,
we'll have a look to for all breaks caused by gcc4.
For now, we're not enough to contribute, and have a lot to do, but sure,
use gcc4.0 is a good idea and is in the roadmap,
Of course, you are welcome if you want to help for this change :-)
