As one of the team leads for testing, the Base tests need to be redone and incorporate what Chris has proposed. We definately need to have testing done through the ODBC and JDBC connectors into the Base product and also for OpenOffice.org. I ran into a situation where a user connecting to a remote MySQL database through the JDBC could not retrieve data.
