mirror.
No announcements are made whatsoever.
In my opinion this should be changed
Don't let the build be moved to stable dir before it is announced.
That's quite impossible because download links should be created and
tested using the files within the mirror network before release is
announced.
I don't quite understand what happened here, or how to prevent it.

I'm assuming builds are only shifted to "stable dirs" after the final-
release-ready issue has been processed. Is that correct?

But if that is so, and Sophie's team has not authorized release, how
would the files get to the stable dirs?
