Somebody found that the build is already available for download from the final place. The article was about the english version, but the download-page (that is autogenerated as well) offers anything that is on the mirrors, whether announced or not. It is the same thing as when somebody browses to one of the mirrors and browses around and finds the builds. > Which are "stable dirs" and which are not? localized and stable as opposed to contrib/rc > I'm assuming builds are only shifted to "stable dirs" after the final- > release-ready issue has been processed. Is that correct? Almost. Since you need to give the mirrors some time to sync. If you want all mirrors to have it available you need to add it a little earlier. > But if that is so, and Sophie's team has not authorized release, how > would the files get to the stable dirs? It has authorized distribution to the stable dirs. Mirrors were fast this time as well as the site didn't point to the "main" download-page of the english builds (that only offers english downloads and redirects for the NL-versions or P2P downloads) http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/index.html It linked to the p2p page that offers all builds via a listbox-selection. I.e. somebody just examined the list and discovered that the build is available for download. http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html (apart from that I'm happy that the peer2peer page is used in that article) ciao Christian -- NP: Silverchair - Satin Sheets Join #qa.OpenOffice.org on irc.freenode.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
