while testing OOo 2.1 for mac one of our testers came across a possible data loss in Writer. In fact the problem is really old and has been already reported. See:http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=34850 http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46945As stated in the issues, this is expected bahaviour, as the table autoformat applies a number style to the cells. If this happens to a cell that has normal text content, the content is replaced by 0. In fact the content is lost.
I encountered this while testing, but wasn't sure if it was a bug, or just me being a new user and not understanding the formats properly.
I think it's something new users are more likely to encounter, and thus should be fixed, as it will confuse them and may discourage them from using OOo. Any data loss, no matter how small, is a worrying experience for users.
Following our issue guidelines this would be a P2 - at the other hand only few users seem to come across this problem and I don't like to reopen as P2.Does anybody have an idea how to proceed with this issue?
