Hi,
I'm a committer on Quarks and am looking forward helping create a community
around edge/IoT analytics here at the ASF.
Open source development is always interesting and it's good to have time to
focus on it again, I was one of the original committers on Apache Derby and
that was good to foster a community spanning multiple time-zones (create an
issue late my time, it would be fixed by the time I was back at my computer the
next day).
I have a background in database internals (Sybase, Illustra, Informix,
Cloudscape/Derby) but since 2008 have been working on streaming technologies at
IBM, back then to me it seemed the next big thing, which it seems to be now,
just taken longer than expected.
Working with small devices in someways takes me back to my earliest programming
on PLCs for my father's industrial control electronics company, definitely fun
to be messing around with Raspberry Pi computers.
I'm employed by IBM as the programming model architect for IBM Streams.
