Hello all,

I went away skiing for a few days and wow, look at all of the activity! I
highly recommend Mont Tremblant btw :-)

I've been involved with the initial development of Quarks and as a
contributor/committer and I look forward to continuing to grow it and the
community around it. I'm a newbie to the Apache environment so right now
I'm scrambling to learn my way around and come up to speed :-)

Most recently prior to Quarks I was part of the team that created the open
source "Java Application API" for IBM Streams, preceded by a variety of
other activities in Streams. Going back further I've been involved in
building distributed applications, rpc middleware, *nix kernel hacking and
even signal processor firmware.

Let the fun begin!
