Subject: Re: [review] pick a project logo
Here's the summary I sent to Christian. I included all of the comments
submitted since the last batch of logos.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another developer (Theo) submitted his comments, so I've merged in his
comments. With his comments in, I think it's safe to say that the
average favorite is probably somewhere around 4.3e, although that's an
oversimplification.
1. Color scheme:
DQ - hot (4.x) (DQ note: I prefer 4.3d-f and 4.4d-f since there are
fewer colors and those are the best-looking colors too)
JM - hot (4.x)
(DQ note: By hot, I presume he excludes a-c)
MS - hot, but not too hot, that means anything but 1.0, 4.1 and 4.2.
(DQ note: so 4.0, 4.3, and 4.4 are okay with MS. By hot, I
believe he excludes a-c.)
DF - hot, prefers 4.0 to 4.3, likes different colored messages
(DQ note: By hot, I presume he excludes a-c.)
TVD - hrm (see comments at bottom)
definitely a preference for "hot", looks a tie between 4.0 and
4.3d-f/4.4d-f
2. Envelope line thickness:
DQ - medium [right most, f] is best, 4.2 is second best, then 4.3e, I
like 4.3d least of all
JM - fatter (1.x and d)
MS - can't decide: going through d, e, f, they all look good. Maybe
d is a bit too fat, but not really bad.
DF - e or f is best (f probably)
TVD - e is probably best, d is too thick, f is too thin
number of first or second place votes per thickness:
- f had 3
- e had 3 (or 4 if you ignore my vote for 4.2)
- d had 1
looks like e is most preferred, followed by f
3. Logotype integrated with logo:
DQ - likes integrated, but doesn't like the green "Assassin" on top of
the orangish background because it clashes (DQ note: not sure)
JM - likes it integrated
MS - separate is better
DF - separate is better
TVD - separate is better
seems to be a slight preference for separation
