------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-01-02 19:34 ------- I've been staring at the code for a while, upped the debugging, and watched a few more message come through marked as spam without reason. My guess as to the cause? Incorrect ordered read of results from DNS resolver. Here's why. In the debug log, I see: Jan 2 21:48:44 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: URIDNSBL: domain "samba.org" listed (URIBL_PH_SURBL): 129.97.50.62 Jan 2 21:48:44 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: URIDNSBL: domain "samba.org" listed (URIBL_AB_SURBL): 129.97.50.62 Jan 2 21:48:44 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: URIDNSBL: domain "samba.org" listed (URIBL_WS_SURBL): 129.97.50.62 Jan 2 21:48:44 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: URIDNSBL: domain "samba.org" listed (URIBL_OB_SURBL): 129.97.50.62 Jan 2 21:48:44 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: URIDNSBL: domain "samba.org" listed (URIBL_SC_SURBL): 129.97.50.62 Looking at the reverse DNS for 129.97.50.62, I find that it's engmail.uwaterloo.ca, the mail server that I use, and therefore showing in one of the received headers. (earlier in the log, I saw: Jan 2 21:48:41 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: looking up A records for 'engmail.uwaterloo.ca' Jan 2 21:48:41 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: A records for 'engmail.uwaterloo.ca': 129.97.50.62 Jan 2 21:48:41 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: looking up A records for 'engmail.uwaterloo.ca' Jan 2 21:48:41 localhost spamd[13745]: debug: A records for 'engmail.uwaterloo.ca': 129.97.50.62 ) Now, my problem is this: I don't know where to go from here. Looking at the code, I don't quite grok the dns lookup loop. That is to say, I have no clue how it works.
