I posted this to discuss-uribl the other day, with no response. I must be
missing something as to why this isn't the best (and certainly least effort &
coordination) approach:
I don't think I've ever understood why SURBL and URIBL don't use wildcard
entries in their zones. Doing so would eliminate the need for SpamAssassin to
determine what the registered domain is (it could just look up the entire
host.domain), it would be compatible with applications that choose to determine
the registered domain, and it would allow for SURBL and URIBL to do things like
list thishost.rm02.net and not thathost.rm02.net at their will.
