OK, I think I got [~vybs] point. And it only took me two days ;)

If I get the idea correctly, the framework will ALWAYS try to store the 
last_value from the extractor (except sometimes it may be null) and conversely, 
there will always be a way for  the extractor to grab the previous last_value.

It is purely up to the connector to decide (based on configs) whether to use 
these methods or not.

I think this can work. 

Veena, can you confirm whether my understanding is correct?
