If you know you're going to release an RC2, then RC1 never really was
a candidate for release.  RC2 should only result if problems are found
with a released RC1, not as a way of deferring fixes for RC1.  Also,
just my humble opinion.  I've just grown bitter with how RC rarely
actually means release candidate these days.
Agreed, except that some issues only appear after 5.0.15 was cut.
Doing the release increases the number of people who will test it.
