I strongly vote against changing the OOo shortcuts just because other software may use other combos for a specific functionality. Before messing around with default shortcut-assignments, better tackle usablility of the whole shortcut-concept first - just have a look at the issues in issueZilla that deal with shortcuts. The problem he mentiones aren't new. They are known for years and sit on the requirements/bh pile. Some important ones (some already mentioned): * remove the limitation on predefined-shortcut-possibilities (allow other combinations, make the top-frame only display the assigned ones, not all possible ones, use a "grab-keycombo"-like control to assign the new shortcut (similar to pressing the shortcut in the current top-area)) * remove the division in two seperate categories "OOo / <module>", instead display both in the top-frame that lists the shortcuts, clearly marking the one that "wins out" by e.g. greying out the other one (like an inactive control in other dialogs). | <shortcut> | [<function in OOo>] | [<function in <module>>] | * move the buttons from the right-hand side to the bottom to allow for more horizontal space/alternatively allow to resize the dialog. Enlarge the dialog-space for the "choose function"-area. You should not be forced to scroll horizontally. Maybe make the two seperate windows one with expanders (with [+] before to expand a given category, like in Tools|Options) * Allow drag'n'drop from toolbar & menu to select the desired functionality Alternatively/additionally use a GTK-style selection mechanism (highlight the functionality, then press the desired keycombo to assign the shortcut), similar to "record macro". ciao Christian -- NP: Metallica - Disposable Heroes --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
