I am a web designer and I would like to help with the OpenOffice.org website.
I have been using OpenOffice.org for some time and I have been observing the development taking place before the upcoming 2.0 release.
I have been looking through the list archives for information about the site redesign to accompany the 2.0 release and I found this:
"It's here: <http://www.openoffice.org/styles/>. It's very rudimentary, mainly specifies the colors for tables and tries to provide hints. But I'd love to move to entirely <div> tags, CSS, and have clear explanations on how to do things efficiently. If you want to try your hand at it: please!"
I really think I could help with this: I would certainly like to help with a redesign and a conversion to a div/span/CSS type layout rather than a table layout, and I could help with updating the style guide.
So, before I rush into the design and development, I would like to ask a few questions:
* What resources are there at the moment for the redesign?
* How can I get my contributions included (on www.openoffice.org)?
* What do I do next (after announcing my presence)?
Thank you, and I hope I can be of help. #shaun
