I guess I spotted the difference:
The current site ends each line of the description in the box with a
newline ("\n") whereas in the proposal, you don't use the newline
character (and don't use spaces after the punctuation), but let the
browser do the line-wrapping. Since the table isn't limited in its size,
this leads to the different appearance.
