Another update:

This seems very straightforward to me! Good job!

Things that have been changed (from the original version):

* JRE Checkbox (note: only available when javascript is turned on, by default with jre is selected (for people without javascript it is thus impossible to download OOo without downloading JRE)) * The wording of the Windows versions... (I thought this one is best. Emphasizing too much on 98 might make users curious about whether it is really still up to date... but please argue for a different wording if you want to) * The NL notes have been combined. Note that when the javascript is able to retrieve a language other than (US) English, it will give a specific link to a download page in this language.
* "Other versions:" has gotten a title attribute clarifying what it means.
* Make contribution of monetary donations more prominent
* The OOo & JRE subpage needs a slight update because of the changes made
* Solaris Sparc & x86 split
* Used Kay's proposal for explaining Java in short
* Increased fontsize of the 'non-qa'd' builds' version/size data

Notes: For 2.2 MacOS X version needs to be changed to 10.4

Hej hej,

I have prepared a proposal:

http://website.openoffice.org/tryouts/murb/download6/index.html

Things that have been changed:

(I thought this one is best. Note that when the javascript is able to retrieve a language other than (US) English, it will give a specific link to a download page in this language. * "Other versions:" has gotten a title attribute clarifying what it means.

Not changed (yet):

* Make contribution of monetary donations more prominent
* The OOo & JRE subpage needs a slight update because of the changes made

(and please add to this list the things I forgot ... else I will forget them :) )

ps. the discussion of promoting the RC's is a bit offtopic under this thread I think... hope to create something for that tomorrow...

Hi,

in the last release status meeting we wondered about that some stoppers for 2.2 release were discovered so late.

We think that we need some more attention for the snapshots (OOo-Dev) builds and release candidates. Therefor I'd like to ask for a second (maybe red or orange button) to be placed beside the green button for the stable builds to get more visibility.

I have some more questions regarding the download page:

* There are separate buttons for Linux x86 and Linux PPC, but for Solaris builds we just have one button with two links in it.

* It doesn't seem possible any more to download installation sets with jre integrated. Even worse, there is a link below to how to install Java separately with no hint to installation set with jre integrated.

* For the Windows platform, the sequence maybe should better be sorted from newest to oldest Windows versions and maybe we should reduce the List to the most important/known: Vista, XP, 98 (adding NT, 2000, 2003 is making the list quite long ?)
