Hi Molcan and everyone else--
I've read through the comments that have been posted so far and I justa
have a few.
* despite the fact that the rest of the site's pages are rather dated
and can presumable be updated, do we like the direction Molcan ahs taken
with the home page? It seems that mostly the comments are positive so
I'm guessing "yes". So...I feel we're making progress and should
continue to refine this new mockup.
* I'm not wild about the addition of the new lower right-hand Download
area for extensions, etc. I would leave ALL of this to a more general
Dwonload page...probably where "Get Your Office" is going
* I would change "Get Your Office" to "Get OpenOffice" and put this
picture first...i.e. to the left of "Get More"
* I would change the wording of "Get More" to "Get More Information" or
something along those lines...we could use that area as a jump off point
for gettign more info about the project etc.
* as to the pictures themselves....well, we might need to find pictures
we like better, and I think it would be nice if someone else might chip
in and assist with this hunt. Volunteers? Frankly, I LOVE the "Get
Involved" picture--very refreshing and friendly....might we include some
older individuals? Yes, that would be nice I guess...but we need to put
some effort into this.
* and finally, what of our mascot seagull :/ ? I miss him/her
already...maybe the gull could be represented in the "Get OpenOffice"
picture instead of the current "carrier person". I'm thinking we might
get the some of the arts projects folsk to get involved with thsi one
once we agree on the overall design.
Anyway, good work Molcan. I think we all appreciate your efforts. These
things do take time, and it's great to see a new promising approach. :)
