Hi
I get the feeling that a crucial message was not sent or got buried. My apologies for the confusion. But we are talking about two things, then: www.openoffice.org and portal.openoffice.org.

"portal.openoffice.org" is logically reached via www.openoffice.org - >portal.openoffice.org. It would include downloads, etc. and be a simple and obvious site for endusers; links to other things also possible. It need not use CollabNet infrastructure.

So, very simple question: have the discussions been related to the *homepage* or the "portal.openoffice.org" page? For the homepage, we have to, at least for now, abide by the collabnet strictures; for portal, nope.

we are talking about the homepage mockup, not portal. Portal should be connected to the homepage via images/links/rss.

Okay, in that case, then we do alas have to pay some heed to CollabNet infrastructure requirements. That's for the *homepage*, aka, www.openoffice.org/ or www/www/index.html

For the Portal, eg, portal.openoffice.org, we do not. We can use any other server and place it in "portal.openoffice.org"

Portal should be something which we have prepared for oooPortal.com and now, we hope we should start this on openoffice.org...soon :o.

I see. I tend to think, obviously, that much of what has been discussed could logically in fact be about portal.openoffice.org. But that it has been about the homepage clarifies things.
