Collabnet is irrelevant here.
I hope so.

But I don't really like the direction of the last website activities.

?

Why?

I can not see a 'red line' or a solid concept for the reorganisation of the website activities at the moment.
(Perhaps someone exists ... but I can't find it)
It seems that every one / every project looks for own ways...

We have at the moment:
- Colabnet stuff for a lot of pages
- Drupal (!) for extensions.openoffice.org
- a lot of Client side javascripts on several places
- bouncer for downloads
- Wikis for sevaral tasks
- a lot of project main pages or pages like dowload central with many many w3c errors
take a look at extensions, api or with 40 (!) errors:
http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.0/index.html

and so on...

-all the activities in order to establish some kind of 'Corporate identity' for OOo websites seems to be dead.

?

We are envisioning that the site would be portal.openoffice.org, and we've been able to requisition that URL. "portal" would be a different server than collabnet's.
Yes, a new main page is needed an molcans mockups are great, but in my mind we have to focus on a website strategy for the future.

Actually, we are. There will be a meeting at the end of October to discuss infrastructure in general; this is website strategy. I have also posted here and on project_leads and elsewhere, to engage people in discussing the website infrastructure. This discussion is related to the enduser requirements.

best
