I think a link would be good, and let the page rest there for a couple
of more years. What's important for me is that the pages like these
don't lay around untouched and forgotten. I'll provide a patch for this

That is fine, or just tell me what the changes. are... either way is
good for me. I'll commit the changes whenever they are ready.
Per, you may also have commit rights (I think that was included when I
bumped your permissions on the project). if so, feel free to check that
page out and update it with the correct links and info for 3.x.

I am not sure who the "owner" of this page is. It is reasonably up to
date, although, it definitely could use some help - eg the OSX info is
missing. As well... that info is duplicated in various places.. in
various states of completeness and accuracy... eg:

Clayton, we should add a note about the two documents discussed here on
the Documentation dashboard, so that we know that these exist.
Especially so that we are active updating these pages accordingly. The
