If 1.5 is to be released soon (before Lion , or at the same time), maybe it would be ok to support 10.5 and replace 1.4, and also make a 1.5 (or 1.6... whatever you want to call it) build for 10.6+ only, with 64bit support only, no universal, etc. But if will takes a lot longer to release 1.5, i'm for dropping 10.5 support.
