I was reading about keyboard and controller button usage in the HI
guidelines:

One thing I immediately liked were the graphical labels on the Enter
and Escape keys, which match the screen graphic. Now, why aren't the
same graphics used on the controller buttons to mean accept and
cancel? This would immediately convey the function of the two primary
controller buttons, which are now randomly assigned an O and X label.
