I could, I've written patches for it before in fact. I would actually
be doing this already except that I knew this process was going on and
didn't want to burn work on it, and it's a little difficult to know
what kind of work I can just jump in and do and expect to be accepted
beyond very straightforward bug fixes. But if there was a co-ordinated
effort around this and I could rely on there being someone I can bounce
"hey, is it OK if I do <X>?" or "what do we really need to try and get
done right now?" type questions off, I'd certainly be able to find a
couple of hours to do some stuff.
