...it's almost like the folks who prefer to use email versus web forums may have different priorities from each other. But make no mistake, killing off will effectively end Fedora as a viable target for playing games [1], and this will have serious implications for our userbase. Folks want one OS that does *everything*, and "being able to play games" has consistently ranked as one of the largest barriers to "average folks" adopting Linux. (And while "let's push all of this onto Valve" solves the problem with Steam, that leaves out everything else..) [1] As others have pointed out, a wide assortment of 32-bit libraries are still necessary for Wine, and that's not likely to meaningfully change in the next 12 months. Putting aside Wine, there's still the matter of 32-bit GPU driver stack as all existing runtimes expect that to be provided by the host OS. And anectdotally, most *native Linux* game binaries I have will forever remain x86-only. - Solomon -- Solomon Peachy pizza at shaftnet dot org (email&xmpp) @pizza:shaftnet dot org (matrix) Dowling Park, FL speachy (libera.chat)
