No problem, then make them work. Do you understand S10 images do not work with any AMD card? > Have you provided logs? No. Did other users (Joost) reported issues? No. I attached cookbug wherever possible. If live system reboots before even loading X and interactive mode does not work, it's hard really hard for me to provide them. > From a driver/software standpoint, fglrx is fine and implemented > correctly (Joost did test it). I only ran those test series you know before leaving for Lyon, and I got back yesterday night. For me fglrx appeared to be correctly configured, but the same hardware that works perfectly with mainline was not able to boot with the iso. > As I said, go buy real hardware next time, not bricks. > Not my problem, file bugs upstream. Tell the same to every AMD user, then. If you want to provide a distro with AMD support, it's up to you (us) to find decent configuration and test it. Otherwise, let's just state that we only support Intel and nVidia. > Once I will enable KMS for radeon by default in Linux 3.6, this won't > be possible out of the box, and the user would need to provide > "nomodeset" boot option in order to have fglrx working and loaded. > We don't force kernel upgrades on users so this will be fine and a > notice will be issued in any case once 3.6 is in main repos. That is fine. My concern is about hardware NOT loading X when using the live. I'm not asking for miracles, but just for releasing thing when we're sure they work as we expect. > Can you understand the problem? I'm not sure you are (knock knock?). I am, do you understand what's my point instead? > Tell your friends to buy real hardware next time (Intel and NVIDIA are > both great). False, nVidia on a notebook is a pain (Optimus). Moreover, normally people just buy random things, most of them do not even know what kind of graphics they do have. Try to be open minded. -- Ing. Dott.
