Sorry, that's not what I meant. My bad. Indeed the list was private, and so what was said on it was private, and was indeed spoken with confidence. What I meant rather, is that a large amount of the discussions on there, while private when they did occur, weren't something IMHO that couldn't have been public had the list been public. I've always been of the opinion that the devel list appeared to be used more as a way to say things without generating extremely long threads that drag in people that aren't even developers to give their 2 cents too. Having the list public now, will show wether or not it ever mattered I guess (except of course for things that were discussed that were indeed private and confidential and concerned with non-public information perhaps under NDA or whatnot). >>In the past I have also submitted various patches found on >>mailing lists, and things people have sent me that fixed >>something for them.
