My apologies, I should have been clearer: I'm not criticising in the sense of implying that whoever put this together was foolish/incompetent/whatever but as a constructive criticism. I had assumed that this was put together very fast and probably without knowledge of the format the data would be in (since we were given no advance indication of this). Great to get it done. BUT there's really no point getting people involved in entering data now until you get the data model right. At the moment it fails to capture information that is there and what it captures is unclear. That means that when the data model is got right (whether by this site or another) then all the data will have to be re-entered or checked to get it right. There's value in having a few people try it out, but at this stage I'd strongly urge that it not be thrown open to everyone until the data model is correct. I didn't think it would be an enormous job to do the changes I suggested and I think it would be highly valuable. I'd love to do my MP, but I don't want to spend time on it to find the effort is all wasted later on, which, in the current structure is inevitable. We've waited for this data for ages, there's no need to get something done *today* we can take a little while getting it right. -- Francis Davey _______________________________________________ Mailing list [email protected] Archive, settings, or unsubscribe: https://secure.mysociety.org/admin/lists/mailman/listinfo/developers-public
