I've recently starting doing stuff with Django. I would probably use that. Regardless of framework, I strongly prefer python. However, it's more important that it doesn't all rely on me, as my availability is very on-off. So, if anyone is interested in helping and doesn't know python or objects to Django, now's the time to say. On reflection, I agree with Matthew about a map not being a good idea. I don't see what it achieves, apart from looking pretty; which would be fine, if it were not for the fact it would also be misleading.
