No resized gif does appear in MMBase with JAI. The strange thing is that I can't find this information in the MMBase docmentation. I found the reason on the site of Sun. There is a world wide patent of Unisys on LZW writing of gif's that expires in July this year. Therefore there is only a gif decoder in JAI, but not a gif encoder. So, at the moment you can read but not write gif's with JAI. Using png instead of gif is at the moment a temporary solution, so why not convert gif internally to png with JAI? Otherwise we have to wait until the end of this year when the patent expires and there is a new JAI library. Martijn Houtman
