I think one of the reasons of this protest in the Hague friday, is precisely because it is suspected that in the counsil the dutch minister will vote in favour of patent laws on monday next week: http://www.softwarepatenten.be/acties/denhaag If I understood well, soon the dutch policy will not matter any more, because the affair will have been decided on a european level (by a _supportive_ vote of our minister) I'm honoustly not very well introduced into the matter, but IIRC it is in fact our country which is defending these patent laws as one of the most avid (of course, because we are always the first to follow the US). Also our fellow countryman mister Bolkestein is playing a suspect role in this play.
