I talked a bit with the team in Brisbane this morning. Obviously the mood there
is somewhat grim.

Talking for me, it's really sad to see this happen. There are a lot of bright
engineers working in that office and I have been working with many of them for
quite some time now. I really hope that everybody will find a new job soon, and
that most of the people will actually stay connected to the Qt ecosystem and Qt
project in some form or another.

For Qt as a product, it is now really important to remember that we do have the
Qt project and a live and active community around it. This might make some
things a bit more difficult in the short term, but we will find ways to deal
with this and to continue to move Qt forward.

I'll try to keep this list posted and informed as good as I can.

Lars

I'm sure QML/QtQuick will live on - only Brisbane is affected.

I'm not sure if/how we, the Brisbane developers, will continue to contribute,
however.

Martin.

We just found out yesterday. We haven’t had a chance to discuss continuation
of QML/QtQuick, but we have passionate developers here who will continue
contributing if possible.
Qtquick was the main point of qt5...
If your company depends on QML/QtQuick, then now is the time to discuss a
mutually beneficial arrangement with us :)

I have invested a lot of time in qt5/qml trusting in what nokia said before...
But i have a very small company so the only way to help that i can do is to pay
for a commercial licence if there is a trustable company that continue qt

Folks:

I wasn't going to mention this but since the topic has come up...

A source I consider reliable has whispered in my ear that
in the aftermath of Nokia recently shooting Meltemi dead*,
Sebastian Nyström (the Nokia Senior VP in charge of Qt) has
been given explicit direction to sell-off the Qt asset.

Nokia's great experiment in frameworks (mobile and otherwise)
  is over.
