You're assuming that they will all do the *same* good job. If they don't, then we'll have different solutions in different distributions and the pain of supporting the users will fall on us, not on them. Who do you think staffs #qt on Freenode? The other thing is, we still need to rename the libraries. Otherwise, we can't install both sets of *.so files to /usr/lib.
