You should have another button on OE taskbar named "Delete" but with an icon
of many envelopes with an X over: that's the expunge button.

Right clicking on the folder, you can choose to sync only headers or whole
bodies.

A nice collateral effect of having only a root fs is that you can use samba
to see disk usage, simply showing properties for every network share on
e-smith server.
