The source RPM for the obtuse-smtpd version in SME Server V5 is now
on ftp.e-smith.org I hope that is able to help you diagnose the problem.
Out of interest, does RAV replace /var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue? If so,
we would not be able to distribute it without breaking the qmail
license conditions.
