Gentlemen,

Why, the current setup in 5.1 seems to work beautifully!!! Well, more
accurately it works well with Win NT and Win 2000 clients. I don't have any
win 9x clients to test with.

I'm not a unix guru but these file permissions tell me that this won't work.
I've tried to nail down Samba documentation that explains this clearly, but
couldn't find it. Given the lack of solid docs, I'll detail my empirical
knowledge.

I believe that the profiles directory either needs to be owned by
root:domainusersgroup, user:usergroup, or user:domainusergroup. For
example:
drwxrwsr-x 4 root shared 4096 Nov 29 11:44 profiles ,

drwxrwsr-x 4 greg greg 4096 Nov 29 11:44 profiles , and

drwxrwsr-x 4 greg shared 4096 Nov 29 11:44 profiles

work!!

However,

drwxrwsr-x 4 admin admin 4096 Nov 29 11:44 profiles ,

drwxrwsr-x 4 root admin 4096 Nov 29 11:44 profiles , and

drwxrwsr-x 4 admin shared 4096 Nov 29 11:44 profiles

do not!!
