Darrell, The single ~/._winprofile directory shared between 9x/NT/2K also appear to work fine. The only issue is the dangling mapping of Z:, which is (to me) a lesser problem than a world-writable directory. The other alternative is to auto-create a per-user subdirectory in the [profiles] area, which doesn't seem to be justified.
