We replace the /etc/samba/smb.conf file installed by the RedHat RPM with a symlink. We then expand the /etc/smb.conf template. In that file, we specify an alternative path for the smbpasswd file. All that's left is a harmless lmhosts file, and a new smbusers file, which will need to be templated or deleted. Or am I missing something?
