I'm no kernel expert, but i am happy to see a push for ext3 rather than reiser 
or other jfs. I have done many upgrades from ext2 to ext3 for linux newbies in 
my lug. It's quick and painless and most important... backwards compatible with 
ext2 if you mount it as such on another box for instance.

I would be happy to try this out on my Dell precision 610. (currently a semi 
production server).
