I'd hardly consider myself a kernel expert, but I'm willing to give this a go on my system... (having just come out of hospital from sinus surgery, and having nothing else to do is a *really* dangerous combination - says he checking the date on the last full system backup) I'd certainly support ext3 over something like ReiserFS or XFS - I've been running ext3 on my Linux-Mandrake system for quite some time now, and have not once had a problem with it. It's "safe" and can *easily* be backed out of. Since it's based on ext2 (and fully backward compatible - my Win2k system has no trouble with access to my Mandrake ext3 root and /home partitions) it's far more mature than any of the other journaling file systems out there... I'll get started on this now... so if I don't reply to e-mails for the next couple of days, you'll know how badly I've mucked it up... :-) -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives by mail and http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
