Hi Glenn Unfortunately, I don't have any clear answers for you - generally I check the message log, phone and try a different modem!
A tip for minicom, to exit use ctrl-alt-z...... But touching on this dial-up issue (again), I believe there is a problem with diald!!! I have spoken to several people about this issue most say that diald itself is a buggy app! IS there a suitable replacement for diald?
