Hi Dave,
I took your suggestion to heart - I doubled my maximumThreads from
120 to 240, and ran it overnight. But it didn't make a noticable
change to my 'localQueryTraffic by hour' numbers, so I'm restarting
(switching back) now ... .. .

just out of curiosity, what OS(es) are you running ? Do you run
four machines simultaneously ? If so, do they have a local high-
speed link in common ? And are they in each other's RTs ?

yeah, this ain't good

connections but all nodes default to 120 threads. Slow speed nodes are
opening up way to many transfers killing their bandwidth which makes the
transfers take forever to finish. This ties up tons of threads(120 doesn't

slow transfers MAY need to be recognized as part of Freenet in the near term, even with NGR.

The above in one line:
Over utilized connections complicated by bad thread/connection
configurations is causing serious problems.

I agree.

Its late and I hope this doesn't sound like mindless babble. I've only been
using freenet for about 6 months and this is what I believe is currently

Well, you've got five months over me ! I just don't understand how you coaxed that _significant_ change in your localQtraffic log though. Or rather, why I couldn't get it too :) -ken
