Right. Money actually makes things a lot harder for the good guys and a lot easier for the bad guys. This is why e.g. you can't use a market to build a mixnet with payment: The bad guys will always be willing to take a slightly lower profit margin than the good guys!
The original proposal required, in the case of Bitcoin payment, a provable sacrifice. But this is not something we need to discuss, it's not realistic in terms of usability, we need to focus on making darknet easy. (Not to mention fixing the client layer etc).
