One of the reasons to encrypt the store and pack it into one file was exactly to prevent node owners to being able to know what's in their store. People are harder to sue if they have no possibility to know what's in their store. By introducing hooks into the code to select and remove certain keys you open up possibilities to selectively remove certain keys. In this case, some governments might make people regularly clean their store according to some "black lists". I'd rather not introduce too many possibilities to identify and modify keys in one owns store.
