I do think that before we build an opennet, we need to invest some serious effort in: - Making it easy to connect to newbie friends. (the darknet-tools list; IRC plugins, AIM plugins etc). - Making it easy to connect to people already on the network that you knew but didn't know were on the network. (the above plus voluntary local discovery, with lots of warnings to verify their identity!).
And if we do implement opennet, then we must be clear on what the advantages of darknet connections are, and if necessary add some more advantages.
